all these dark underworld spaces- going to the mall at night feels like being trapped in a labyrinth- populated by grotesque forms and aimless ghosts wandering about, isolated from the surrounding world. something sheltering about these artificial hell zones for me, but also potentially deadly. safe and dark and outside of any “real world” but it’s been created for a purpose, and i can hardly comprehend what it would be- short of anything malicious.

thinking about lots of cultural overlap while growing up: seeing elements of various mythologies in consumer spaces, videogames, cartoons, and vice versa, intersections of different media and cultures all possessed by similar visions of the below. something incredibly distant but that is always there. i feel like the underworld tints everything around me.
